I am a French Colombian artist, born in Bogotá, Colombia. I grew up in the middle of handlooms, of all kinds of fibers and colored materials, the creativity of my artist parents made life a continuous celebration of surprises. Inspired by this environment, I wanted to study art, and for that I went to Paris in 2008. The fact of developing my artistic career away from my 'comfort zone' induced me to walk in an essentially observing position of the new environment, trying to find an place, an identity, a sense of daily life through art.

 

I have continued traveling, because I feel that this allows me to understand things around me and clarify what I want to express and share with others; After arriving in France in 2008, I lived in Lima in 2012, I did a master's degree in New York in 2013, returned to Bogotá in 2015 and I am currently back in Paris.

 

My practice focuses on the idea of ​​finding a place, finding an own space in the midst of a chaotic and changing contemporary world. For this I try to observe the instant, that mysterious space-time where all metamorphosis happens. How to understand that process, to be present in its happening - is it possible to keep it, to retain it physically? The way my experimental research attempts take, what results is my artistic work.

 

This has led me to think of the world as a great energetic consciousness, a unit made up of small peculiarities, different musicalities of forms and colors that resonate in us and in which we resonate; a meeting of energies that are related, collide and flow. In that swing, I choose images that come to my mind depending on the moment I live and try to materialize them, give them a form to apprehend them.

 

This research is developed through different media that interact: drawing, painting, installation, photography and video.

The conjunction of these elements produces a meeting of colors, shapes and textures that try to explore new dimensions of perception of reality.
